Is this the best way to alert you that I’ve used your work?
This is fine. I post links every few days.
Thanks.
DH
Hi Lovechilde,
I think the reason I did not link to your post is that you were re-posting from another blog without adding commentary. My goal is to illustrate where writers and editors are choosing my art to illustrate their work. Does this make sense?
Makes perfect sense. Here’s another from today, although it is also a cross-post from another blog. http://fairandunbalancedblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/0000063-election.html
Great stuff.
Here’s one of my own. http://fairandunbalancedblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/you-really-want-to-have-culture-war.html
You are an inspiration, DonkeyHotey!
You do brilliant work. I used three of your illustrations today in my blog http://windupmyskirt.wordpress.com/2012/02/17/the-gop-from-one-canadians-perspective/
Thanks for letting me know.

Hello! I run the blog Eclectablog.com (with my blogging partner LOLGOP). We use your incomparable CC images from time to time for our blog posts and I’d like to make a contribution. I don’t make any real money with my blog but I’ll do what I can. What’s the best way to drop some folding money into your tip jar?
I’d also be interested in writing up a piece about you and your magnificent art if you’d consider doing an interview.
I can be reached at eclectablog over at teh gmail with dots and comes and stuff.
Hi Electablog,
Wow, what a complimentary post! I appreciate the kind offer to contribute to a tip jar, but I am not set up to deal with that at this time. Regarding an article. Right now I am still basking in my pseudonymity, so I am also going to pass on the article.
Thanks,
DH

May I make a caricature request? I’ve been looking for a good caricature of David Vitter, but haven’t found even a bad one. I would greatly appreciate it, and I promise to link it back to you.
He IS caricature worthy. I will work on that. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi there DH,
Loving the artwork that you do and wanted to let you know that I’ve used one…
http://tiptoetotruth.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/obama-vs-romney-totalitarian-tango.html
Oddly enough, I mention Don Quixote in there somewhere so it was probably meant to be.
:o)
Cheers,
SIMON
Hi Simon, Thanks for letting me know.
I used your image on bentalksbaseball.com , another WordPress site. I believe I attributed it correctly based on your directions, let me know if not and ill fix it. Thanks!
I used this photo but experienced some difficulty. It seems this photo can be used as long as you were cited (and you were), but please inform me if you would like the picture to be removed from the below blog: http://yesterdaysshadow.wordpress.com/?p=332&preview=true thank you
What kind of difficulty did you have? You do need to link to the image you used and credit DonkeyHotey/Flickr, but that is all I ask. I put all those images up on Flickr for people to use. I am sorry you had difficulty.
the flkr url wouldnt work to upload the picture, so i used a screenshot. It was not a problem for me, but I wanted to double check that it was indeed creative commons material. thanks for letting me use it!
There are two ways to use the Flickr image in your site.
Example using the image you choose:
1.) Go to this page http://www.flickr.com/photos/donkeyhotey/7374923744/
2.) Click “Share”
3.) Select “Grab HTML code”
4.) Use the drop box to select a size for the image.
(here is where the steps fork)
5a.) Copy HTML Code and paste it into your page in the HTML mode
5b.) Copy the image SRC URL in the HTML code. In this example the SRC is http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8008/7374923744_bcb2393652_m.jpg
6b.) Use that SRC to add an image to your page.
NOTE: This link http://www.flickr.com/photos/donkeyhotey/7374923744/ is a link to the main page for that image. It is not a link to an image.
Hope that helps.
DH
DonkeyHotey I absolutely love your work, I was wondering if in your spare time you could take on an entire set request? …I’d absolutely love to see a set of as many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence as possible. At least the household names would be awesome to see. Washington, Hamilton, J. Adams, S. Adams, Madison, Franklin, Jefferson, Hancock. The one you did of Washington is incredible.
It sounds like your request is not time critical and does not include remuneration. I think it would be good to add those images to my collection some time when political news is less interesting.
Thanks,
DH
Love your work!
Thanks!
Hi! Just used your image Voting Sreen on my blog at http://poliblog.jonkman.ca/blogs/2013/01/28/e-voting-considered-harmful/. Thanx for licensing with CC!
You are welcome. Thanks for letting me know.
Used your image of Scalia here:
http://lawprofessors.typepad.com/conlaw/2013/03/professor-scalia-on-racial-entitlement-then-and-now.html
Love your images – used one here: http://www.scoop.it/t/mapping-fine-wine-heritage
We love your caricatures at MarylandReporter.com. Here’s the latest. Didn’t know you had done Gov. Martin O’Malley. http://marylandreporter.com/2013/09/15/rascovar-commentary-perry-vs-omalley-early-presidential-showdown/
Since we also operate under Creative Commons licensing, four or five other website will also likely use your art. Wish we could afford to pay for it. Perhaps we can commission some of our lesser known pols. Len@MarylandReporter.com
Thanks Len.
I would like to be sure that it would be okay to (possibly) use your “Taxes” image (made from a $100 bill) on the face of our client documents CD. We are a CPA firm in the Dallas area. I couldn’t find anything about trademark, copyright, or licensing. Thanks.
Hi Bill,
These images are posted under Creative Commons license on Flickr and your are free to use them provided you provide attribution.
Please choose your “Taxes” images
here
or here
The credit should be
DonkeyHotey/Flickr
Thanks,
DonkeyHotey
Thank you. DonkeyHotey is on the left side of the image itself, but not Flicker. Do you by chance have one that includes the proper Flickr reference? As I mentioned, would be printing the image on the face of a CD.
If you can’t put a credit somewhere in the text of the document then just use it as is. That would not always be acceptable, but in this case I think it will do.
Thanks,
DonkeyHotey
Thank you. Here’s a link to how the image would be used:
Hi DonkeyHotey, I am in the process of creating a non-commercial music parody video about the GOP. If I use some of your images from Flickr would I be able to credit you at the end of the video in order to be able to use your images or would I need some sort of credit on each image as it displays in the video. Thanks much.
I am not clear how the credits would work on the video. Something at the end seems reasonable. Please provide clickable links to each image either in the video or on the page where the video is displayed. Example: John Boehner linked to the image used https://www.flickr.com/photos/donkeyhotey/10127563003/.
Excellent artwork and it looks like you are having fun, being very generous. Are you still anonymous? How’s that working for you? I’d like to see you doing some character work for me, actually, and getting paid for it.
Thanks for getting in touch. Answered via email.

Hi Markus,
I have a few homes so far. The main place people find me is on Flickr. They also find me on Twitter. Plus, I have this somewhat neglected blog and a website opinionatedart.com. What did you have in mind?
DonkeyHotey
I just send you a contact at your site.
Please check it.

Dear »donkeyhotey«!
I used your outstanding »Bernie Sanders Caricature« for a »YouTube Video Thumb« for my YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt7e2ai200xIUVZQ2N0i93Q
The – hopefully proper – credit you may find in my video description: https://youtu.be/6TEX9ljxaZU

would it be ok to use your donald trump edit for my school magazine?
Hi Ali, I post my images on Flickr under Creative Commons for people to use. Just credit DonkeyHotey and link to the image. Thanks https://www.flickr.com/photos/donkeyhotey/
I would like to use your Citizens United Carpet Bombing drawing as part of our site banner and Facebook cover photo, but its placement in those locations makes it hard for me to attribute and link. Any suggestions? (Our project is Operation End Run, a nonprofit with a goal of avoiding Citizens United by persuading candidates for election to public office to refuse to accept contributions of more than X dollars.) — Doug Wilson
You can post a comment one time on your Facebook page with attribution and a link.
Hi. Love your work. Not sure how to reach you, but I would like to use a couple of your existing drawings in a political product—is Creative Commons license with attribution sufficient? Are you open to creating something unique by commission? Let me know!
Guess this is old now that you found me on Twitter.

I’m working on a political joke book for commercial sale. I’d like to use a few of your pictures from flicker. is that ok?
B – I post some work on Flickr under Creative Commons. You can use the work if you follow the license.
I used one of your images on my article about InfoWars. Your image made it look great!
